Wood & Metal & Coyote Skull Table Lamp
When I found that metal cylinder at the top of the lamp, I knew I had found a really nice piece and I held onto it for quite a while waiting for the perfect lamp to come together. This lamp started out as a weathered wooden box I found on the side of the road, and the one coyote skull small enough to fit in it. Mounting the skull turned out to be a painfully difficult process, but when it was done I was very happy with the results.
At that point I still wasn't sure if this would be a wall mounted lamp, or a table lamp. I started fitting together pieces of pipe to go on top of it and noticed the metal cylinder sitting on my shelf. I test fit everything and was really happy with the way it looked, so that cylinder found its home. When I turned on the lamp after finishing it, I was even more impressed with that cylinder than before! The design looks especially striking with the lights on. (And although I haven't actually tried it in a really dark room yet, I bet the designs it casts on the wall are fabulous!)
The cord on this lamp is about 6 feet long, so you shouldn't have any trouble reaching an outlet. The rotary switch is conveniently located just below the "lamp shade" on the pipe T.
