Cheese Grater Entry Way Lamp
When I realized that a lot of my friends (mostly those living in old South Minneapolis houses) didn't have a light switch inside their front door, I started making lamps that could go right next to the door so you wouldn't have to stumble through the dark to turn the light on. They all have easily accessible switches, at least one hook for hanging up your keys or whatever else, and a 12 foot long cord so you can reach an outlet.
This one is made from a weathered piece of wood and some black pipe. It has a cheese grater shade which makes it a little dimmer than it would otherwise be, but it puts off beautiful light and in dark room casts designs all over the walls. The switch is just under the handle of the cheese grater and the key hook is made from a spoon. Mounting holes have been pre-drilled to make hanging this next to your door a breeze!
