I was digging through my stash of cigar boxes, and found this one with a New York license plate in it. I apparently had planned to turn this into a cigar box guitar with a license plate resonator back when I was still building instruments. I figured I might as well go ahead and build a lamp with the same setup though. So here's an Ashton No. 7 cigar box with a New York motorcycle plate and a couple of modern bakelite sockets. On the "front" of the box I've used two of the vintage radio knobs I originally bought for building guitars. Each controls one of the socket so you can have a bright bulb and a dimmer one. This is greatif you want one for lighting up your room, and another one for reading at night.
