The start of this lamp was a pretty classy looking "Casino Gold" cigar box. I added a modern "bakelite" flush mount socket, and a chrome toggle switch. Makes a great bedside or end table lamp. It comes with an Edison style LED bulb which uses only 7watts, gives off a nice warm glow, and should last for ages.
