My favorite lamps have at least 2 bulbs that can be turned on separately from each other. I like to have one that's sort of dim for reading or just enough to find your way through a dark room, and another brighter one. Then of course you can use both at once to make things extra bright. This is one of those lamps. Currently it has 2 different size radio tube style bulbs which are pretty similar in brightness, but I just think that the pair of them look so good together on a lamp like this. Each of them is turned on & off with a small rotary switch. The cord is about 6 feet long so you shouldn't have any trouble reaching an outlet.
