I ran across these really cool gears recently and made a bunch of different earrings with them. Under the 2 gears is a lock washer that's been smashed on railroad tracks. They come with closing stainless steel hooks so they won't fall out of your ears, even if your lobes are stretched. They're about 5 inches long with the hook.
