I bought these boxes YEARS ago to make cigar box guitars and ukuleles out of. At the time it was these sweet score of hard to find boxes, so I got quite a few. I’ve moved 3 times since then and about to have to pack them up and move them again, so I might as well make lamps with one or two.
This is a fairly small box at about 9x6 inches. I’ve added a couple modern bakelite candelabra sockets, and some miniature Edison style bulbs. A small rotary switch controls both bulbs. The bulbs are only 7watts each so they put off enough light to read by, or put it in your smoking lounge to give you some light without making you feel like your back at the office. If you need some more light, any candelabra base light bulb will work.
